Apple and Pumpkin picking

Fall is here! Well not so much here in the desert, but definitely on the calendar and in my head. Too bad I can`t put my autumn clothes on yet... I just love fall!I think its my favorite season when it gets cool and the leaves turn in color and the weather gets rainy and it`s time for pumpkin pie and apple cider and hot chocolate... what could be nicer. Well lets see how fall goes here in the desert... We took the lil ones apple and pumpkin picking past Sunday and it was also a first time experience for my Mom. The apples tasted sweet and juicy and the pumpkins were bright orange and ready to be picked. It reminds me so much of our time in NC!! We did a hayride, ate lots of apples from the tree, tasted pumpkin ice cream and found our way back through a challenging cornmaze! What a great way of starting into fall!

Fun Saturday

Big day today! My lil princess lost her second tooth today!! Definitely some serious scrappin material! Luckily the toothfairy just remembered to put some dollars under her pillow. That toothfairy is gettin old... Here a picture of the toothless girl, I hope you dont think its gross.



The afternoon was just girls time. Lil princess and I took my Mom shopping. My Mom had a huuuge list....and luckily we took her to the right stores so she could get everything done.In between a stop at my favorite coffee place for a Pumpkin Frappucino and a Pumpkin Muffin (did I mention that I love Pumpkins??)Here is the one thing I got today. A beautiful plate wich will look awesome in the new house.I adore the bright colors together.

My Mom`s here

My Mom arrived past Sunday and she will stay for 3 weeks with us in our house in the desert!
I am so excited. As many of you know my Dad passed away beginning of the year and it has been a tough year for her so far.
So I am so glad she was able to make the trip and just have some fun times with the grandkids and us.
So today was great.
After we dropped off the munchkins at their schools we went for breakfast in a small diner and then we strolled over the farmers market. ! My Mom can`t get over the free coffee refill during breakfast... they just dont have that in Germany!
In the afternoon we got ourselves some iced mochas at the local coffee shop. It`s such a treat!I really dont want to know the calories I am taking in there, but its sooo worth it. Then some shopping at the mall and back home.
I already know that time will go by way too fast so I have to ENJOY every moment of it!

New project

So because I dont have enough to do yet I decided I want to start a new project. I want to get back into crocheting... now wait, dont think its oldfashioned and Grandma-style right away...there`s pretty cool things to crochet. I am thinking of flowers, flowers, flowers for my scrapbook pages and for hairclips and I am thinking of a cozy and cuddly blanket for the winter months... Don`t these colors just look too yummy??

Autumn Feeling

Sunflowers always give me that warm and colorful feeling of autumn. I think Its my favorite season. This year will be different though since we live in the desert now and there are no "real" seasons and no leaves changing colors and no rainy and grey days sitting inside by the fire....

scrapbooking

So as many of you know I am an addicted scrapbooker and hardly a week goes by without me scrapping a page or at least thinking about it.
Since we are in the new house in the desert I have my own scrapbook room where I can spread out and be messy and just close the door. I am loving it!
